Evaluation : In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products.

We have tried to developing this even though our brand name is not popular, in our Advert 1 the sale person is wearing a blue shirt, which is traced back to our logo, and the actor is wearing a brown jumper which can be traced back to the back ground of the logo. Therefore, we have used these conventions for use to engage ourselves with our target audience.

At the TV adverts, we have the logo with our slogan at the bottom; this is what loads of adverts do like Cadbury. This is a good convention because you need a symbol that memorable in people’s head, therefore they will go and buy the chocolate. But the difference between our adverts and Cadburys is that they have the image of the chocolate bar at the end, but we have reference to the chocolate bar during the advert, because every time someone gains energy they eat the chocolate before hand. So in this sense we are changeling the way in which consumers look at adverts, and associate our advert with our logo and not our actual bar like Cadburys.
At the end of every sponsorship sequence, we have our brand name and our logo shown and herd. Therefore this reinforces our brand name, and then gives us greater brand power.

When coronation street was sponsored by Cadbury’s they used a catchy jingle being used. Like our jingle, but Cadbury’s has theirs before they say’ sponsors coronation street’ and we have challenged this idea, and not inputted a jingle, because in the back ground you can hear the music being played by the piano player. Therefore our target audience of 16-25 year old can associate this with the chocolate.

In the Cadburys dancing eyebrow’s advert, she is wearing a purple dress, therefore this enhances their brand logo. This also makes their audience mind think because they will look at this advert many times, and because there is no reference to the chocolate during the advert, they will instantly know that it is connected to Dairy milk.

Another convention that we have used is using our brand name over and over and over again. This is at the end of every sponsorship sequence, adverts and at the end of the radio advert.

The brand/product must be visible in the commercial. Generally speaking the product is identified very early in the ad or at the very end of the ad as a surprise tactic. I think we should have made more reference to the max chocolate in the running advert.
Another convention that we have used is shot styles we have used a close up of the actor taking the chocolate bar out of this pocket and eating it, and then the girl eating the chocolate and in the sponsorship you can tell the boy has eaten the chocolate before he plays and finally in the radio advert, you can hear the spokesman eat the chocolate

This is a good way we have challenged other chocolate adverts, like Cadburys, because you do not see them eating the chocolate however, we decided to have a different approach.

Many commercials use a voice-over. The performer who reads the copy is not seen in a voice-over commercial. Rather, the performer's voice is heard as a major component of the sound track. We have done this is our running advert, when she has the flash backs, I think this was really effected and was better then someone actually speaking it. ( non diegectic)

Finally the font we have used in our adverts, in the same through out. This is again to engage our audience, because when you make this repetitive the audience remembers it and when they see something they will connect it to the chocolate bar.

Underneath you will be able to see all of our products and how we have challenged other products.
