Planning- Script TV ad 1
INT.SHOP.DAY
A large retail store with no customers present except for one man. Two men appear from around a corner carrying a heavy looking box. They place it on the floor next to the Sales Colleague and the Man. They appear to be tired as they walk away.
The Sales Colleague is dressed in a smart business suit.
SALES COLLEAGUE
Here you are Sir. Do you need any help taking it out?
The Man is wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt.
MAN
No thanks. I'll manage.
The man goes to pick up the box but stops as the Sales Colleague speaks.
SALES COLLEAGUE
Are you sure Sir? It's really heavy.
MAN
Yeah. It's no problem at all.
The man then attempts to pick up the box but can't even lift it off the ground.
MAN
Wow. That is heavy. Hang on a sec,
I need to take it to the max.
The man pulls out some Max Chocolate and takes a bite.
The man suddenly begins to spin around at an incredible speed while the Sales Colleague looks shocked.
As quickly as it started, the man stops spinning and his t-shirt now has a large red M on it. He then bends down and picks up the box and places it on his shoulder with ease.
The man then walks away leaving the Sales Colleague looking bewildered.
EXT.SHOP FRONT.DAY
The man places the box down on the ground and reaches into his pocket. He pulls out another Max Chocolate and hold it up to the camera.

Planning- Treament
The working title of our brand is Max Chocolate. This name may change during the production process.
We will be using different formats during production. For the television and sponsorship sequences we will be filming in DV format. For the radio, we will be recording onto an MP3 format.
The estimated duration of the television adverts will be a maximum of two minutes each, the radio advert will a maximum of one minute and the sponsorship sequence will be a maximum of 20 seconds.
The intended audience of our advertising campaign will be both males and females aged between 16 and 30 because this audience range will be able to understand that the contents of the advert cannot happen in reality. We have not aimed our campaign at an older audience because it is more common for the younger generation to buy our product than an older generation.
The first Television advert will contain a Male buying a large product that he is unable to carry. Instead of asking for help, he takes a bite of the product we are advertising and gains the strength/energy to lift up his purchased product.
The second Television advert will involve a small group of people pitching Max Chocolate to a "Big Name Celebrity" of our own creation. They will be over the top due to having eaten the product beforehand.
The radio advert will be a shorten version of the second television advert.
We will need to make sure that we create our adverts in line with Advertising Standards. We will need to make sure that our campaign doesn't give any false impressions to the viewing audience.
In order to successfully create our advertising campaign we require actors and dancers to play the different roles, filming and recording equipment, the product itself and various permissions to film in our chosen locations.
The deadline for the main task is 26th March and 9th April for the ancillary tasks.

The Apprentice
After watching a few episodes of the programme, I came across the final series where they had to make a chocolate advert.
This was a good programme because, we are looking at creating an advert for a chocolate, so this will be able to help us create and plan for the advert.
For example in ‘Episode 12: The final 'You're the boss!'’. It is when they are editing the shots they have to create the final product, however the girls come across disagreements about the music etc.
I think after watching this, as a group we will need to look at everyone’s idea and then choosing the best one.
Also after watching, ‘Episode 12: The final Chocolates with a twist’. They changed ideas half way through the shooting process, and I think this should haven’t, just like one of the women said you need to come to a set with 40’s of shot material that can happen, and If you change it half way, that idea may not work and then you will be wasting time and money on set.
Initial Ideas
Initial Ideas
Even though we have looked at a wide range of products and services that can be advertised, we have found that confectionary items are the most popular items to be advertised. Therefore we have focused in on chocolate adverts, sponsorships and radio adverts.
For example, looking at the Crunchie research that we have found shows the different elements and how a chocolate bar can represent a programme. Also looking into the Cadbury eye brow advert, has opened up our minds, on how to approach a chocolate advert, because instead of soling using chocolate in the advert, just like Cadburys have used wired actions to represent their chocolate instead of showing images of the chocolate bar.
Also we have conducted further research into planning and the making of an advert. Through our research we discovered the programme ‘The Apprentice’. The final programme, gave them two people a task the make a chocolate advert. So this will help us in giving our group a outline of what we have to do and then we will be able to expand on it.
We have come up with our brand name as ‘Max’. This is because chocolate is sometimes seen to give people energy and therefore make them stronger.
Television advert 1:
Male figure that seems to be weak at first, however after consuming the chocolate bar, he gains strength.
Television advert 2:
Female figure that realises that her front room is a mess and she has guests coming over, however after consuming the Max chocolate she quickly tidies up and still has time to relax before her guests enter.
Radio Advert:
This will be a catchy and repetitive advert. The reason in which this is because from our research we have found out that most radio advert repeat slogans or words in order for their audience to take the information in and make it memorable.
Sponsorship:
At the moment we have an idea of the chocolate sponsoring a dance programme, called ‘You’ve got served’. We could create an energetic lively dance piece that will show a lot of energy to represent the ‘energy’ factor of the chocolate bar.
